We are hiring experienced CDL-A Local Intermodal Truck Drivers in Salt Lake City, Utah, for a full-time position offering daily home time, consistent freight, and steady weekly earnings.

Drivers will operate daycab tractors hauling intermodal containers on established local routes within approximately 65 miles of Salt Lake City. This position offers hourly pay plus stop pay, consistent schedules, and no driver-assisted freight loading or unloading.

Pay & Compensation

• Average Weekly Earnings: $1,300–$1,700
• Base Pay: $15.00 per hour
• Stop Pay: $12.50 per stop
• Average Stops: Approximately 2 per load
• Weekly Mileage: Approximately 1,000 miles
• Weekly Hours: Approximately 55–70 hours
• Consistent local freight and regular work opportunities

Home Daily – Local Driving Schedule

• Home Daily – Sleep in your own bed every night
• Both day and night shifts available
• Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday schedules
• Typical shifts of 10–12 hours
• Weekend availability required
• Holiday work optional
• Local routes generally within a 65-mile radius of Salt Lake City

Job Responsibilities

• Transport intermodal containers between rail ramps and local customers
• Operate daycab tractors with shared, slip-seated equipment
• Complete approximately 3–8 loads daily, depending on freight availability
• Handle live loads, live unloads, preloaded trailers, and drop-and-hook freight
• Perform required container flips at intermodal ramps, which may take 30–60 minutes
• Maintain safe driving practices and comply with DOT regulations
• Complete daily equipment inspections and required documentation

No driver-assisted freight loading or unloading required.

CDL-A Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
• Minimum 6 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
• Must live within 20 miles of ZIP code 84104 in Salt Lake City, UT
• Must be available for day or night shifts
• Must be willing to work weekends
• Must be comfortable operating slip-seated daycab equipment
• Must be able to complete required intermodal container procedures
• Must meet applicable DOT and company safety qualifications

No HazMat endorsement required.

This position is for experienced solo company drivers. No trainee, team, or owner-operator positions are available.
